Fall 2014 Tentative Career Event Schedule

 

Monday, October 13

IDO Student Career Fair Booth Set  Up |12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Nebraskan Student Union–GreatRoom (2ndFloor)

IDO members interested in assisting, please contact Mr.Scott Jochum.

 

Company Career Fair Set Up     | 3:00p.m.– 6:00 p.m.

Nebraskan Student Union–Ponderosa Room (2ndFloor)

 

Students will be available during this time to assist you with bringing in materials.With a campus parking permit you may park in any lot on campus. Permits will be mailed upon rceipt of your registration. Several parking stalls will be reserved on the north side of the Union for loading and unloading items.

 

Program Partner Breakout Session I   |2:15 p.m.– 3:00 p.m.

OTOL Rooms 126, 131 & 135 (see room grid on last page)

The Industrial Distribution Program Partners are allowed exclusive time with ID students. During this time Partners will give a brief company overview, and discuss each respective companies’ internship program, and full-time career paths after graduation.

 

Advisory Council Meeting | 3:30 p.m.– 5:30p.m.

Advisory Council members will receive an agenda prior to the meeting.If your company is interested in having a representative on the council, contact Mr. Scott Jochum.

 

ID Program Overview & Orientation |5:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m.

Holiday Inn–110 2ndAve

Company representatives new to our event are strongly encouraged to attend. Faculty,staff and students will provide an overview of the program and strategies to make your experience at the career event a success.

 

ID Program Partners Reception | 6:00p.m.–7:00p.m.

Program partners have the opportunity to network with senior ID students. Light appetizers and drinks provided.

 

Senior Banquet |7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Holiday Inn–1102ndAve

Celebrate the senior class.Companies and senior students will network and discuss opportunities and future plans. Dinner will be served followed by a short program. Cash bar. Business casual dress.
Tuesday,October 14

Showcase of ID Student Internships/Breakfast |7:30 a.m.– 8:45a.m.

OTOL Room 133& 135

Increase your understanding of the summer internship program including academic requirements and the students’ perspective of the experience.  Insights on successes and struggles from this past summer will be discussed, followed by a Q&A with students.  Full breakfast will be provided.

High School Counselor Orientation Session | 8:45am – 9:45am

The orientation meeting is designed to provide high school counselors with the opportunity to hear firsthand about the UNK Industrial Distribution program from the perspectives of current ID students, the ID Faculty, and company representatives attending the event.

 

Industrial Distribution Career Fair |9:00 a.m.–12:30p.m.

Nebraskan Student Union–Ponderosa Room (2nd Floor)

Light refreshments and beverages will be available throughout the day.The focus of the first 90 minutes will be seniors seeking full-time positions and those seeking Summer 2014 internships. Underclassmen will join us at 10:30 a.m.

 

Interview Set Up |12:45p.m.– 1:45p.m.

Nebraskan Student Union–Ponderosa Room (2ndFloor)

At 12:45pm, company booths must be dismantled. Interview locations will be different so all booth materials will need packed up and removed. Students will reset the room for interviews. Freshman and sophomore IDO members will help during this time.

 

Lunch Break|12:45 p.m.–1:45 p.m.

Nebraskan Student Union-Market@27th (2ndF loor)

A ticket for theMarket@27th on the second floor of the Nebraskan Student Union will be in

each company representative’s registration packet.

 

Company Conducted Interviews|2:00p.m.– 6:00p.m.

Nebraskan Student Union–Locations to be assigned, map provided at the fair.

No interviews will be allowed during the Career Fair. Interviews may begin at 2:00p.m. in designated locations. Snacks will be provided near the student waiting area.

 

Evening on Your Own

Informal gatherings with students are encouraged but must be held off campus and setup individually with the students.
