Duties:
About the Program The Sales and Operations Internship Program is a 10-12 week summer program that exposes interns to multiple functional areas within Hagemeyer. Participants are offered a basic foundation of knowledge required by any candidate seeking further full-time opportunities within Hagemeyer upon graduation. The program conveys operational policies and procedures by helping the participant become more familiar with standard site and corporate operations and the Hagemeyer business philosophy. Program Structure Interns will rotate through multiple functional/departmental areas on a 1-2 week schedule. Branch functions could include: Warehouse, Counter Sales, and Inside & Outside Sales. Corporate functions could include: Finance, Marketing, HR, Product Strategy and Procurement. The internship will include defined short-term projects with clear objectives and expected outcomes. Roles & Responsibilities: The Hagemeyer Sales & Operations Intern will support the business under a wide scope of responsibilities and tasks.

 

Responsibilities could include: Warehouse/Operations:

• Receiving, put-away, picking, packing and shipping

• Review billing for incoming merchandise, process customer orders and handle internal and external customer requests

• Carries out operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise

• Coordinates activities of distribution warehouse with activities of sales, record control, and purchasing departments to ensure availability of merchandise Sales (Inside & Outside):

• Assists or handles customer quotations

• Responsible for new customer account setups & communications

• Assist sales teams as needed

• Expect to graduate in August 2013, December 2013 or Spring 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in a business related field

• GPA 2.8 or higher

• Excellent communication skills

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

• Ability to relocate for the summer
