SUMMARY: The Outside Sales Recruit will be responsible for successfully completing all coursework to meet the training requirements in preparation for a position in Outside Sales. The sales representative is responsible for overall sales growth for specific accounts and all potential customers within a dedicated sales territory after successful completion of a five month training program at the corporate headquarters in Farmers Branch, Texas. Sales territory will be assigned towards the end of training.

EDUCATION: ·Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is desired but not required.
Preferred degree: Industrial Distribution
EXPERIENCE: ·0 to 3 years of related sales experience in the assigned product category is desired or degree in related technical field.
SKILLS & ABILITIES: Some of the following skills and abilities will not be strongly developed until after completing the five month training program. ·Strong mechanical aptitude ·Ability to read, draw and decipher hydraulic schematics ·Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical concepts to product solutions ·Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with engineers and technical designers to determine and deliver appropriate customer solutions ·Ability and desire to work independently without direct supervision ·Ability to persuade and influence others through excellent verbal, written and presentation skills ·Beginner to intermediate proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is sedentary. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, transporting of items such as a laptop computer, small products or parts, product books or catalogs. Position requires long periods of sitting in the classroom, or while driving or riding as a passenger in an automobile. Must be able to move through customer sites, including warehouses, shipyards, oil field rigs, manufacturing facilities, and related machinery, etc. Ability to effectively communicate using company-issued devices such as laptop, mobile phone, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to various outdoor and indoor environments, including temperature variances, humidity, dust, noise, etc. Overnight travel may be required; frequency depends upon assigned sales territory. Attending regular meetings, training and making sales calls via automobile or airplane is required. Work outside normal business hours is required.
