Cummins Internship Program is designed to provide the student with a wide variety of experiences by spending a significant amount of time with Sales, Parts, Service and Operations personnel. During their time with the Sales group, interns will have the opportunity to receive training on our products and develop an understanding of customer specification requirements. The student will assist both Inside and Outside Sales personnel with administrative projects such as prospecting customers, developing customer quotes and processing orders. The student will also have the opportunity to accompany outside sales representatives on sales calls, customer visits, trade shows and other sales/marketing events that occur over the course of the summer and in various locations. We will also expose our interns to the Parts and Service aspect of our business. This will provide the student with experience in Parts Sales, Inventory Control and Inventory Management while also learning about our product service capabilities. This experience will help the student to learn about how all aspects of our business tie into each other. In addition to Sales, Parts and Service, the student will have the opportunity to spend time with our Branch Sales Representatives and be able to learn about overall Distributor Operations. This includes management, marketing and exposure to the manufacturer. The student will also assist with various projects like competitive analysis and visit customers which could include fleets, dealers and end-user customers.
